M3-Purdue University survived a determined comeback attempt by M3-Xavier University on the way to a 5-3 win.

A goal by Michael Donato put M3-Purdue University up 5-0 in the third period, but M3-Xavier University pulled to within two on Michael Wagner's tally zero seconds into the third period.

M3-Purdue University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. M3-Purdue University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.5 shots per game it averages.
