M3-Loyola University-Chicago falls to UW- LaCrosse in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

UW- LaCrosse's Kody Novinska scored 2:01 into overtime to beat M3-Loyola University-Chicago, 7-6 (OT).

UW- LaCrosse overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. UW- LaCrosse trailed 5-3 after a goal by M3-Loyola University-Chicago's Dominic Marcus at 14:40 in the second period. UW- LaCrosse tied things up at 6-6 on a goal by Zach Tomesh at 16:48 in the third period.

UW- LaCrosse forced M3-Loyola University-Chicago's netminders to work without much rest, finishing with 55 shots and forcing 48 saves. Nathan Pecoraro made seven stops and Tyler Kovach made 41. UW- LaCrosse excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. UW- LaCrosse's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

UW- LaCrosse additionally got points from Brady Bollinger, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Tomesh, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for UW- LaCrosse included Josh Lemke and Dominick Jacobs, who each put in one.

M3-Loyola University-Chicago stifled UW- LaCrosse's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. UW- LaCrosse was unable to stop M3-Loyola University-Chicago from sending pucks towards the net, and M3-Loyola University-Chicago eventually piled up 61 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

M3-Loyola University-Chicago was led by Nicholas Sohl, who registered two goals. Sohl scored the first of his two goals at 12:54 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Matt Barnett picked up the assist. Sohl's next tally made the score 4-3 M3-Loyola University-Chicago with 9:22 left in the second period. Marcus assisted on the tally. M3-Loyola University-Chicago also got points from Marcus, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M3-Loyola University-Chicago also had goals scored by Andrew Hadley, Patrick Myers, and Dante Todaro, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M3-Loyola University-Chicago were Sean Thornton, Jordan Hawkins, William Gaudet, and Nick Piper, who contributed one each.

Shaun Borre recorded 55 saves for UW- LaCrosse. UW- LaCrosse incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. M3-Loyola University-Chicago ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
