UW- LaCrosse survives M3-Loyola University-Chicago comeback, wins 5-4

M3-Loyola University-Chicago tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but UW- LaCrosse would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

UW- LaCrosse took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have M3-Loyola University-Chicago storm back on a Michael Farino goal 14:49 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

UW- LaCrosse was sparked by Lucas Stauffeneker, who racked up one goal. Stauffeneker scored 9:59 into the third period to make the score 5-3 UW- LaCrosse. Brady Bollinger picked up the assist.

UW- LaCrosse excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. UW- LaCrosse's offense rang up 40 shots on M3-Loyola University-Chicago's net.

UW- LaCrosse also got points from Bollinger, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. UW- LaCrosse also had goals scored by Quaid Cavallin, Dominick Jacobs, and Bryan Robinson, who each put in one. More assists for UW- LaCrosse came via Kody Novinska, who had two and Nic Belonger and Jake Jochimsen, who each chipped in one.

M3-Loyola University-Chicago stifled UW- LaCrosse's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M3-Loyola University-Chicago's offense operated below its season average. M3-Loyola University-Chicago averages 7.4 goals per game. M3-Loyola University-Chicago kept UW- LaCrosse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Schmidt made 31 saves on 35 shots.
