Mallardville Beavers pulled out an 8-7 (OT) overtime victory over Red Rockets on a clutch goal by James McWilliam.

Mallardville Beavers got the win behind a great game by David Hui, who had two goals and three assists. Hui scored the first of his two goals at 15:11 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Mallardville Beavers. Curtis Hughesman provided the assist. Hui's next tally made the score 7-5 Mallardville Beavers with 4:18 left in the second period. Peter Kim picked up the assist.

Mallardville Beavers kept Red Rockets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Peter Yim made 26 saves on 34 shots.

Mallardville Beavers additionally got points from Andy Lau, who also had one goal and one assist and McWilliam, who also registered two goals and one assist. Mallardville Beavers also got a goal from Neil Chia as well. In addition, Mallardville Beavers received assists from TJ Hutchings and Simon Wilson, who contributed one each.

Red Rockets forced Mallardville Beavers goalie Shaun Neufeld to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Red Rockets was helped by Craig Phillips, who tallied two goals and one assist. Phillips scored the first of his two goals at 18:20 into the first period to make the score 3-3. Eric Siu assisted on the tally. Phillips' next tally made the score 4-4 with 17:05 left in the second period. Victor Tung picked up the assist. Red Rockets also got points from Brian So, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Daniel Fung, who also had one goal and one assist, Alric Leung, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Siu, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Ted Chang also scored for Red Rockets. More assists for Red Rockets came via Nelson Ma, who had one.

Mallardville Beavers' Neufeld stopped 24 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Mallardville Beavers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Red Rockets ended with no penalties and went 2-for-2 on the power play.
