M1 Oswego State University takes care of M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo early, wins 12-0

A four-goal first period deficit cost the M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo Tigers, which could not recover and fell to the M1 Oswego State University Lakers, 12-0.

Nicolas Epping was all over the ice for M1 Oswego State University, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Epping scored 2:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Oswego State University. Connor Hoyng picked up the assist.

M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo's six penalties came back to haunt it, as the Tigers let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

The Lakers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo to score on any of its three power plays. M1 Oswego State University's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Lakers average 4.4 goals per contest. With 46 shots on target during the contest, M1 Oswego State University exceeded the 0.1 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Oswego State University also got points from Matt Peters, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Kegan Storjohann, who also racked up three goals and one assist, Michael Lucarelli, who also had two goals and one assist, and Nick Winters, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. In addition, M1 Oswego State University received assists from Brendon Wormley, who had three and Zachary Lamberti, Matthew Klingbeil, Georgy Belov, and Devin Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers were held below their usual level of production. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo puts an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game. The Tigers put 26 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.3 they average per game.

The Lakers took out Brady Zambanini after he had made nine saves and installed Jimmy Albright in goal, where he finished with 17 saves and the win. M1 Oswego State University ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Lakers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zack Cornish was ejected from the game. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolo's starting goalie, Curran Allison, made 23 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Gavin Lewis, who stopped 11 shots. The Tigers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
