Liberty University blows out Colorado University of, 7-1

The Liberty University Flames had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over Colorado University of.

Catharine Burrell was all over the ice for Liberty University, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Burrell scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Liberty University. The Flames had gotten the advantage when Colorado University of's Whitney Thomas was sent off for roughing. Carrie Jickling provided the assist. Burrell's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Liberty University with 19:53 left in the third period. Jickling picked up the assist.

Colorado University of's power play was ineffective against Liberty University's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Flames' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Colorado University of power plays.

Liberty University additionally got points from Jickling, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Chelsey Greenwood, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Liberty University also got a goal from Lauren Mcdonald as well. More assists for Liberty University came via Nikki Mccombe, Madison Fischer, and Nicole Douglas, who contributed one each.
