Massachusetts University of outlasts Colorado State University, 4-2

The Massachusetts University of Minutemen gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Colorado State University Rams.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brittani Lanzilli secured the win for Massachusetts University of with a goal in the third period.

Michaela Tosone had a great game for the Minutemen, netting two goals. Tosone found the back of the net 8:00 into the third period to make the score 2-2 and again while on the power play 15:34 into the third to make the score 4-2 Massachusetts University of.

Massachusetts University of was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Minutemen had been averaging 8.0 minutes in penalties per game. Massachusetts University of stifled Colorado State University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Massachusetts University of also got points from Lanzilli, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Massachusetts University of also got a goal from Victoria Bortolussi as well. In addition, Massachusetts University of received assists from Ally Perdios and Tatum Schulz, who each chipped in one.

Colorado State University was helped by Avery Kauffmann, who registered one goal. Kauffmann scored 3:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Colorado State University. Amanda Gacioch provided the assist. Molly Oneil also scored for Colorado State University.
