Christofferson's hat trick boosts M3-Colorado State University over M2 University of Wyoming, 5-2

M2 University of Wyoming could not stop M3-Colorado State University's Jake Christofferson, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Christofferson's first goal came 15:43 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:08 into the second and at 18:17 into the third.

M3-Colorado State University's penalty kill excelled, as M3-Colorado State University gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

M3-Colorado State University stifled M2 University of Wyoming's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M2 University of Wyoming was unable to stop M3-Colorado State University from sending pucks towards the net, and M3-Colorado State University eventually piled up 50 shots on goal. M3-Colorado State University's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as M3-Colorado State University finished with 18 penalty minutes.

M3-Colorado State University also got points from Alec Orme, who also finished with one goal and one assist. M3-Colorado State University also got a goal from Josh Malone as well. In addition, M3-Colorado State University received assists from Christopher Maceau, who had two, Emmett LaCombe, who had three, and Colton Hellman, Brockton Ward, and Jackson Wilson, who contributed one each.

M2 University of Wyoming forced M3-Colorado State University's goalies to work in net, getting 31 shots and forcing 29 saves. Nicholas Church made 18 stops and Peter Gormley made 11. M2 University of Wyoming struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 20 penalty minutes for 10 opposing power plays.

M2 University of Wyoming was helped by Lance Pennington, who registered one goal. Pennington scored 38 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 M3-Colorado State University. Tyler Johnson picked up the assist. M2 University of Wyoming additionally got points from Johnson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for M2 University of Wyoming came via Colton Burkett, who had one and Auburn Flores, who had two.

M2 University of Wyoming's Scott Romano stopped 45 shots out of the 49 that he faced.
