M3-Fordham University outlasts M3-Suffolk County Community College, 4-3

M3-Fordham University and M3-Suffolk County Community College were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M3-Fordham University made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Rich Podpirka at 10:11 of the third period.

M3-Fordham University was led by Podpirka, who racked up one goal.

In the losing effort, M3-Suffolk County Community College was led by Christopher Meyer, who had two goals. Meyer scored the first of his two goals at 14:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Thomas Gallo picked up the assist. Meyer's next tally made the score 2-2 with 13:48 left in the second period. M3-Suffolk County Community College had taken the advantage when M3-Fordham University's Ryan Flood got sent off for cross checking. Jared Vuolo assisted on the tally.

M3-Fordham University forced M3-Suffolk County Community College goalie Ryan Mattsson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

M3-Fordham University additionally got points from Cole Taylor, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for M3-Fordham University included Michael Gamby and Joseph Rametta, who scored one goal each. In addition, M3-Fordham University received assists from Trey Herlitz Ferguson, who had one and Martin Bartoszewicz, who had two.

M3-Suffolk County Community College's offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.1 shots per game it averages.
