Hackett leads M1 Canisius College over M1 Duquesne University, 8-3

The M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins' Jess Hackett had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-3 win over the M1 Duquesne University Dukes.

Hackett found the back of the net 7:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Canisius College and again while 4:29 into the third to make the score 4-1 M1 Canisius College.

M1 Canisius College's penalty kill excelled, as the Golden Griffins gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

M1 Canisius College stifled M1 Duquesne University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Griffins put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.4 they average per game. M1 Canisius College outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Golden Griffins average 4.6 goals per contest. M1 Canisius College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Canisius College also got points from Mike Held, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M1 Canisius College also had goals scored by Samuel Burkhardt, who had two and Andrew Ferrentino, Preston Mackert, and Jesse Caulkins, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Canisius College came via Stan Pawlow, who had two and Matt Wisotzke, Connor Haseley, Zachary Grace, and Alvin Dow, who each chipped in one.

M1 Duquesne University got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Hiroyasu Takahashi made 21 saves for the Golden Griffins on 24 shots. Michael Dginto recorded 20 saves for the Dukes. For M1 Duquesne University, Eric Smith was ejected from the game.
