M1 Duquesne University falls apart in second, loses to M1 Kent State University, 10-2

The M1 Kent State University Golden Flashes scored four goals in the second period to pull away from the M1 Duquesne University Dukes and clinch a 10-2 win.

M1 Kent State University got the win on the strength of a great game by Ctaylo79@kent.edu Taylor, who had one goal and three assists. Taylor scored on the power play 18:31 into the second period to make the score 5-0 M1 Kent State University. The Golden Flashes had gotten the advantage when M1 Duquesne University's Eric Smith was sent off for roughing. Jonathon Buttitta provided the assist.

The Dukes' 10 penalties came back to haunt them, as M1 Duquesne University let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

M1 Kent State University surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Golden Flashes have scored at the pace of 5.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. M1 Kent State University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Kent State University additionally got points from Jacob Parry, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Buttitta, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Miles Radosevic, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M1 Kent State University also had goals scored by Jake Hainline, who had three and Kyle Schaefer, Andrew Radosevic, and Kasey Colcombe, who scored one goal each.
