Michigan University of falls to Davenport University after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Davenport University Panthers battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Michigan University of Wolverines.

Davenport University never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Panthers fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Michigan University of's Mercedes Reyes at 1:24 in the second period. Davenport University knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Lexie Boydston at 4:46 in the third period. The Panthers scored the game winner at 14:10 in the third period on a goal by Boydston.

Boydston had two goals and one assist to lead Davenport University. Boydston scored the first of his two goals at 3:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Michigan University of. Katie Dubro picked up the assist. Boydston's next tally made the score 3-3 with 15:14 left in the third period. Samantha Rogers assisted on the tally.

The Panthers stifled the Wolverines' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Davenport University was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.
