Lanzilli's hat trick boosts Massachusetts University of over Vermont University of, 6-2

Brittani Lanzilli netted a hat trick to lead the Massachusetts University of Minutemen over the Vermont University of Catamounts, 6-2.

Lanzilli's first goal came 9:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:24 into the second and at 2:55 into the third.

The game was close after the first frame, but Massachusetts University of banged in three goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Vermont University of.

The Minutemen forced Catamounts' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 49 shots and forcing 43 saves. Natalie Kampf made 27 stops and Meghan King made 16.

Massachusetts University of additionally got points from Michaela Tosone, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Massachusetts University of also had goals scored by Meghan Lawler and Katy Turner, who scored one goal each.
