Malvern Prep holds on for 7-5 win against WC HendersonIceLine Rink 1 Fri, Jan 29, 2016 WC Henderson tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Malvern Prep held on for a 7-5 victory. Malvern Prep made the score 7-4 on a goal by Patrick Kavanaugh at 14:34 in the third period, and WC Henderson got as close as 7-5 when Ben Cottle scored 15:46 into the third period. Malvern Prep was paced on offense by Nicholas Martino and Joey Abel, who combined for six points. Martino registered two goals and one assist and Abel also notched one goal and two assists. WC Henderson was unable to stop Malvern Prep from sending pucks towards the net, and Malvern Prep eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Malvern Prep surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Malvern Prep has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Malvern Prep found itself short handed often, totaling 28 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Malvern Prep additionally got points from Abel, who also had one goal and two assists. Stephen D Elia also scored for Malvern Prep. More assists for Malvern Prep came via Charlie Andress, Skyler Davis, Joseph D Elia, and James Bell, who contributed one each.
