WC East outlasts Springfield, 5-3IceLine Rink 1 Mon, Nov 09, 2015 WC East gutted out a close 5-3 win against Springfield. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Michael Eland at 4:07 of the third period. WC East was paced on offense by Chris Rodier and Eland, who combined for four points. Rodier grabbed two goals and one assist and Eland also added one goal. WC East was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. WC East also got points from Dylan McLaughlin, who also had one goal and one assist. WC East also got a goal from Shane Stefani as well. More assists for WC East came via Chase Miller, who had one and Eddie Russell, who had three. Springfield's offense operated below its season average. Springfield averages 6.0 goals per game. Springfield's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Springfield is averaging 2.5 goals against for the season. Springfield was led by Tyler Riddle, who registered two goals. Riddle scored the first of his two goals at 6:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Springfield. Riddle's next tally made the score 3-3 with 8:34 left in the second period. Joseph Cavaliere also scored for Springfield. In addition, Springfield received assists from Jacob Zappo, who had one. WC East's Joe Stacy stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced.
