Sun Valley beats Bishop Shanahan 4-3 after comeback scare

Bishop Shanahan tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Sun Valley would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Nicholas Daluisio put Sun Valley up 4-2 in the third period, but Bishop Shanahan pulled to within one on Jonathan Habermann's tally 10:17 into the third period.

Sun Valley got the win behind a great game by Daluisio, who had two goals and one assist. Daluisio scored the first of his two goals at 36 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sun Valley. Zachary Costa assisted on the tally. Daluisio's next tally made the score 4-2 Sun Valley with 13:41 left in the third period.

Sun Valley's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Bishop Shanahan power plays. Sun Valley kept Bishop Shanahan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex DeGarmo made 35 saves on 39 shots. Sun Valley got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Sun Valley also got points from Eric DeLellis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Sun Valley also got a goal from Casey Crockett as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sun Valley were Nicholas Malorgio, who had one.

Bishop Shanahan forced Sun Valley goalie Nicholas Tkacz to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Bishop Shanahan was led by Gera Poddubnyi, who tallied two goals and one assist. Poddubnyi scored the first of his two goals at 11:12 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Poddubnyi's next tally made the score 2-2 with 15:09 left in the second period. Patrick ODonohoe picked up the assist.

Tkacz recorded 32 saves for Sun Valley. Sun Valley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bishop Shanahan incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
