St Josephs Prep holds on for 7-5 win against Archbishop RyanSkatium Thu, Jan 07, 2016 Archbishop Ryan tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but St Josephs Prep would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 7-5. A goal by Ronan Egan put St Josephs Prep up 7-4 in the third period, but Archbishop Ryan pulled to within two on Ryan Hearn's tally 15:52 into the third period. St Josephs Prep forced Archbishop Ryan's goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Trevor Giwerowski made 26 stops and Fran McClain made zero. St Josephs Prep was helped by John Mctiernan, who tallied three goals. St Josephs Prep also got a goal from Demitrios Stefanou as well. In addition, St Josephs Prep received assists from Tyler Black, who had two, Kyle Cissone, who had three, and Ryan Gill and Marc Colavita, who contributed one each. Archbishop Ryan was led by Blaze Ferris, who racked up two goals and two assists. Ferris scored the first of his two goals at 4:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ferris' next tally made the score 6-4 St Josephs Prep with 13:59 left in the third period. Josh Davis picked up the assist. Archbishop Ryan additionally got points from Tyler Giwerowski, who also had one goal and one assist. David Lee also scored for Archbishop Ryan. More assists for Archbishop Ryan came via Ryan Ferris, Kevin McCarthy, and Scott Nowosielski, who each chipped in one. St Josephs Prep's starting goalie, Alexandros Aslanidis, made 22 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Shawn Joniec, who stopped zero shots. St Josephs Prep incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Archbishop Ryan avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays.
