Unionville wins tough contest against Springfield, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Unionville escaped with a 4-2 victory over Springfield.

Unionville gained the winning advantage on a goal by Aiden Masters 8:10 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Unionville got the win behind a great game by Tyler Glennon, who had two goals and one assist. Glennon scored the first of his two goals at 15 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Danny Hargadon picked up the assist. Glennon's next tally made the score 2-2 with 8:46 left in the second period. Dan Brucker assisted on the tally.

Unionville pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 28 penalty minutes.

Unionville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Springfield power plays.

Unionville additionally got points from Hargadon, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Unionville came via Parker Wine, who had two.

Springfield did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Springfield puts an average of 7.5 pucks into the net per game.

Springfield was helped by Kevin Brown, who registered one goal. Brown scored 7:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. Jim Schickling picked up the assist. Dan Barrett also scored for Springfield. In addition, Springfield received assists from Aidan Smith, who had one.

Unionville's Michael Hansen stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Unionville registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Calin Losacco rejected 21 shots on goal for Springfield. Springfield incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
