Early goals doom Strath Haven, falls to Springfield, 10-0Aston Ice Works Wed, Dec 23, 2015 Springfield jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Strath Haven, 10-0. Tyler Riddle was all over the ice for Springfield, as he registered five goals in the win. Riddle got on the scoresheet 1:02 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:07 into the first, at 8:15 into the second, at 5:31 into the third, and at 12:12 into the third. Springfield's defense was surprisingly good. Springfield allows 2.3 goals per game. Springfield additionally got points from Kevin Brown, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Mark Rodgers, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Springfield included James Spence, Dan Barrett, and Joseph Cavaliere, who each put in one. In addition, Springfield received assists from Aidan Smith, Katelyn Brown, and Joe Rice, who contributed one each and Andrew Astrino and Jim Schickling, who each chipped in three. Strath Haven was held below its usual level of production. Strath Haven puts an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game. Strath Haven's offense was handcuffed by Springfield's defensive play, and Strath Haven managed only 10 shots on goal during the game. Calin Losacco made 10 saves for Springfield on 10 shots. Springfield ended with no penalties and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Strath Haven's Jason Teofilak stopped 18 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Strath Haven incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
