Huge game by Brown boosts Springfield over Harriton, 11-0

Behind a great game by Kevin Brown, who had two goals and three assists, Springfield defeated Harriton, 11-0.

Brown found the back of the net 7:13 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Springfield and again while 4:11 into the second to make the score 4-0 Springfield.

Springfield managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Springfield wound up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. Springfield's defensive play was more effective than usual against Harriton. Springfield averages 2.2 goals allowed per game. Springfield forced Harriton goalie Alex Krauss to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Springfield found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Springfield averages 8.3 goals per game.

Springfield also got points from Andrew Astrino, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Dan Barrett, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Steven Griffin, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tyler Riddle, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Springfield also had goals scored by James Spence, Aiden Smith, and Jacob Zappo, who each put in one. More assists for Springfield came via Nick Medwid, who had two and Katelyn Brown, Joe Rice, and Mark Rodgers, who contributed one each.

Harriton was held below its usual level of production. Harriton averages 3.7 goals per game. Springfield's defense shut down Harriton's forwards for much of the game, and Harriton got off only 11 shots during the contest.

Michael Gerzabek made 11 saves for Springfield on 11 shots. Springfield registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Krauss rejected 26 shots on goal for Harriton. Harriton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
