Riddle nets hat trick, leads Springfield to 10-2 win over PenncrestAston Ice Works Mon, Nov 16, 2015 Tyler Riddle netted a hat trick to lead Springfield over Penncrest, 10-2. Riddle got on the scoresheet 15:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:27 into the second and at 12:24 into the third.Springfield led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after. Springfield forced Penncrest goalie Mark Dumont to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Springfield bested its season scoring average. Springfield averages 7.0 goals per game. Springfield took advantage of Penncrest's penalties, tallying three goals off of three power play opportunities. Springfield also got points from Kevin Brown, who also registered four goals and two assists. Joseph Cavaliere also scored for Springfield. In addition, Springfield received assists from Nick Farese, who had two, Jim Schickling, who had three, and Katelyn Brown and Steven Griffin, who each chipped in one. Penncrest's offense was handcuffed by Springfield's defensive play, and Penncrest managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. Penncrest was led by Ian McDougall, who finished with one goal and one assist. McDougall scored 3:49 into the third period to make the score 7-2 Springfield. Ryan Dumont assisted on the tally. Penncrest also got a goal from Matthew Dougherty as well. More assists for Penncrest came via Matthew Simpson, who had one. Calin Losacco rejected 12 shots on goal for Springfield. Mark Dumont made 27 saves for Penncrest on 37 shots. Penncrest incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
