Catona nets hat trick, leads Ridley to 14-1 win over InterboroAston Ice Works Thu, Dec 10, 2015 Interboro could not stop Ridley's Nick Catona, who tallied a hat trick in a 14-1 win. Catona's first goal came 1:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:58 into the first and at 7:17 into the second.Ridley managed to stay out of the box for the most part, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Even so, Ridley surpassed its low season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. Ridley kept Interboro's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Whitham made 43 saves on 57 shots. Ridley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Ridley averages 6.8 goals per game. Ridley cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. The defensemen of Ridley were also effective in Interboro's zone, and came away with two goals. Ridley additionally got points from Michael Giampapa, who also finished with five goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Colin McCann, who also registered two goals and one assist, Nate Dunning, who also had two goals and four assists, and Eric Miller, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Evan Miller also scored for Ridley. Other players who recorded assists for Ridley were Michael Desio, who had two, Brett Dunning, who had four, and Tyler Davies and Thomas Plotts, who each chipped in one. Interboro did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Interboro averages 3.7 goals per game. Interboro's offense was handcuffed by Ridley's defensive play, and Interboro managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. Interboro was led by Jake Reifer, who scored the team's only goal. Reifer scored 4:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brendahn Brawley rejected 12 shots on goal for Ridley. Interboro incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
