WC East pulls away in second, rolls over Perkiomen Valley, 8-1

Perkiomen Valley was within striking distance after one period, but WC East put the pedal down in the second en route to an 8-1 victory.

WC East got the win thanks to a great game by Charlie Carsello, who had one goal and four assists. Carsello scored 1:03 into the second period to make the score 3-1 WC East. Nicholas Donnelly picked up the assist.

WC East pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 31 penalty minutes.

WC East forced Perkiomen Valley goalie Hunter Thomas to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots. WC East got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

WC East additionally got points from Cameron Cortese, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Chris Rodier, who also had one goal and two assists, and Donnelly, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for WC East included Eddie Russell, who had two and Shane Stefani and Billy Kyle, who scored one goal each. More assists for WC East came via Michael Eland, Christian Juliana, Ryan Rodier, Sergi Kern, Dylan McLaughlin, and Zachary Mulholland, who each chipped in one.

Perkiomen Valley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Perkiomen Valley puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Perkiomen Valley's offense was handcuffed by WC East's defensive play, and Perkiomen Valley managed only nine shots on goal during the game.

Perkiomen Valley was led by Dylan Nassoiy, who scored the team's only goal. Nassoiy scored on the power play 3:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 WC East. Alex Rittenhouse assisted on the tally.

Joey Galitski made eight saves for WC East on nine shots. WC East registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For WC East, Juliana was ejected from the game. Thomas recorded 46 saves for Perkiomen Valley. Perkiomen Valley incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
