Huge game by Lombardi boosts Perkiomen Valley over Methacton, 11-2

Kevin Lombardi was all over the ice for Perkiomen Valley, as he tallied two goals and three assists in Perkiomen Valley's 11-2 win over Methacton.

Lombardi found the back of the net 5:29 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Perkiomen Valley and again while 5:39 into the second to make the score 4-2 Perkiomen Valley.

Perkiomen Valley kept Methacton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Shane Cassady made 38 saves on 49 shots. Perkiomen Valley bested its season scoring average. Perkiomen Valley has scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Perkiomen Valley got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Perkiomen Valley additionally got points from Dylan Greirson, who also grabbed three goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Adam Lewis, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Joseph Staiber, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Kyle Zahour, who also registered two goals and three assists. Others who scored for Perkiomen Valley included Charlie Murphy and Blake Murphy, who each put in one. More assists for Perkiomen Valley came via Colin Kasiarz, who had one and Jacob Gilinger and Alex Rittenhouse, who each chipped in two.

Methacton stifled Perkiomen Valley's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The defensemen of Methacton were also effective in Perkiomen Valley's zone, and came away with two goals.

Methacton was led by Nicholas DiGrazio, who tallied two goals. DiGrazio scored the first of his two goals at 36 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Methacton. DiGrazio's next tally made the score 2-1 Methacton with 9:25 left in the first period. Methacton had gotten the advantage when Perkiomen Valley's Kasiarz was sent off for interference.

Christopher Fiorillo recorded 13 saves for Perkiomen Valley. Perkiomen Valley incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Methacton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
