Lowe leads Strath Haven over Marple Newtown, 8-1

Strath Haven's Ryan Lowe had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-1 win over Marple Newtown.

Lowe got on the scoresheet 10:55 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:24 into the second, at 1:52 into the third, and at 9:53 into the third.

Strath Haven's penalty kill excelled, as Strath Haven gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Strath Haven surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Strath Haven has scored at the pace of 5.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Strath Haven could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Strath Haven additionally got points from Sean Volz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ryan Spanier also scored for Strath Haven. In addition, Strath Haven received assists from Zack Zarko and Douglas Orr, who contributed one each and Tony Koskinen and Mike Irey, who each chipped in three.

Marple Newtown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Strath Haven to score on any of its six power plays. Strath Haven's defense shut down Marple Newtown's forwards for much of the game, and Marple Newtown got off only 12 shots during the contest. Marple Newtown could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Marple Newtown was led by Anthony Giacobetti, who scored the team's only goal. Giacobetti scored on the power play 4:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Strath Haven. Matthew Merrone picked up the assist.

Strath Haven's Lukas Bernaus stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. Drew Moore made 18 saves for Marple Newtown on 26 shots.
