Ridley uses fast start to beat Lower Merion, 11-1

Ridley jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Lower Merion, 11-1.

Jake Cross had a great game for Ridley, netting five goals. Cross got on the scoresheet 1:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:18 into the first, at 7:44 into the first, at 1:53 into the third, and at 5:04 into the third.

Ridley stifled Lower Merion's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lower Merion was unable to stop Ridley from sending pucks towards the net, and Ridley eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Ridley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Ridley averages 7.0 goals per contest. Ridley got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Ridley additionally got points from Brett Dunning, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Nate Dunning, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nick Catona, who also racked up three goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Ridley also got a goal from Steven Rubillo as well. In addition, Ridley received assists from Colin McCann, who had two, Michael Giampapa, who had five, and Michael Desio and Nick Woods, who each chipped in one.

Lower Merion found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere nine shots against Ridley's defense.

Lower Merion was led by Cory Fraiman, who scored the team's only goal. Fraiman scored 9:22 into the second period to make the score 7-1 Ridley. Anthony LePera assisted on the tally.

Brendahn Brawley made eight saves for Ridley on nine shots. Ridley incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Jack Treiman recorded 24 saves for Lower Merion. Lower Merion ended with no penalties and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
