Lower Merion falls apart in second, loses to Conestoga, 6-1

Conestoga scored four goals in the second period to pull away from Lower Merion and clinch a 6-1 win.

Turner Kaufmann had four goals to lead Conestoga to victory. Kaufmann got on the scoresheet 4:19 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:01 into the second, at 10:00 into the second, and at 5:13 into the third.

Conestoga was led by goalie Luke Robbins, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Robbins will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.25 entering the contest.

Conestoga's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lower Merion power plays. Conestoga kept Lower Merion's goalie busy throughout the game, and Luca Saleh made 30 saves on 36 shots.

Others who scored for Conestoga included Charlie Orr and Tommy Sopko, who each put in one. In addition, Conestoga received assists from Will Schnorr, who had three, Nick Falcone and Scott Macmillan, who each chipped in one, and Mac Hamblett and Matt Cameron, who contributed two each.

Lower Merion forced Conestoga goalie Robbins to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Conestoga incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lower Merion incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
