Johnson lifts Kennett over Bishop Shanahan, 5-2Patriot Ice OLYMPIC Mon, Feb 01, 2016 Ryan Johnson was all over the ice for Kennett, as he tallied four goals in Kennett's 5-2 win over Bishop Shanahan. Johnson notched his first tally 7:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:34 into the second, at 5:09 into the third, and at 8:46 into the third.Kennett put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bishop Shanahan to score on any of its four power plays. Kennett kept Bishop Shanahan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex DeGarmo made 40 saves on 45 shots. Kennett additionally got points from Taylor Cullen, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Kennett came via Jonathan Burns, who had two and Luke Borman and Pearce Rush, who each chipped in one. Bishop Shanahan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kennett power plays. Bishop Shanahan's offense operated below its season average. Bishop Shanahan averages 4.4 goals per game. Bishop Shanahan was led by Gera Poddubnyi, who racked up two goals. Poddubnyi scored the first of his two goals at 6:25 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Conners provided the assist. Poddubnyi's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:12 left in the second period. Brennan Cassidy assisted on the tally. Sean Edmonds rejected 22 shots on goal for Kennett. Kennett ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Kennett ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Patrick ODowd was ejected from the game. Bishop Shanahan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
