Holy Ghost Prep holds on for 4-3 win against La Salle

La Salle tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Holy Ghost Prep held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Robert Freiling put Holy Ghost Prep up 4-1 in the second period, but La Salle pulled to within one on Austin Master's tally 14:13 into the third period.

Freiling had a great game for Holy Ghost Prep, netting two goals.

Holy Ghost Prep could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Holy Ghost Prep also got points from Marko Bohatiuk, who also had one goal and one assist and Kyle Weller, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Holy Ghost Prep were Joseph Fiorino, Kyle Peters, and Bobby Ovecka, who contributed one each.

La Salle forced Holy Ghost Prep goalie Bogdan Sharapat to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. La Salle's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. La Salle averages 1.6 goal allowed per game. Team could not crack Holy Ghost Prep's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. La Salle could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 52 minutes in penalties during the game.

La Salle also had goals scored by Jeffrey Gratz and Jack McDonough, who each put in one. In addition, La Salle received assists from Tyler Pohlig, who had two and Taylor Smith and Joseph Mancuso, who each chipped in one.

Holy Ghost Prep's Sharapat stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Holy Ghost Prep registered three goals on 14 power play opportunities. Harrison Feeney recorded 25 saves for La Salle.
