Morris nets hat trick, leads Haverford High to 8-5 win over Garnet Valley

Daniel Morris netted a hat trick to lead Haverford High over Garnet Valley, 8-5.

Morris got on the scoresheet 10:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:09 into the second and at 1:21 into the third.

Haverford High additionally got points from Frankie McVeigh, who also registered three goals and one assist and Mitchell Estes, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Kenny Kissinger also scored for Haverford High. More assists for Haverford High came via Dante Gattone, who had one, Henry DeVoe, who had three, and Kevin Cunningham and Shane Moran, who each chipped in two.

Garnet Valley was led by Anthony Starzi, who racked up three goals. Others who scored for Garnet Valley included Matthew Wood and Samuel Tourlitis, who each put in one. In addition, Garnet Valley received assists from Simon Abukasis, who had two, Gannon Stuart, who had three, and Benjamin Murphy and Dominic Starzi, who contributed one each.

Tim Osifchok made 13 saves for Haverford High on 18 shots. Haverford High avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays. Garnet Valley's Lee Wheeler stopped 20 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Garnet Valley incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
