Moran leads Haverford High over Roman Catholic, 8-5

Haverford High's Shane Moran had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 8-5 win over Roman Catholic.

Moran scored at 2:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Haverford High and again while 6:57 into the third to make the score 6-4 Haverford High.

Haverford High also got points from Frankie McVeigh, who also finished with four goals and one assist and Mitchell Estes, who also registered one goal and three assists. Dante Gattone also scored for Haverford High. Other players who recorded assists for Haverford High were Kenny Kissinger, who had one.

Roman Catholic's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Roman Catholic could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Roman Catholic was led by John Verrecchio, who grabbed two goals. Verrecchio scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Roman Catholic had gotten the advantage when Haverford High's Joe Falcone was sent off for hooking. Verrecchio's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 19:03 left in the third period. Roman Catholic also got a goal from Jonathan Sechuk as well. In addition, Roman Catholic received assists from Richard Ziegler, Edward Verbitski, and Ben Muldoon, who contributed one each.

Tim Osifchok recorded 15 saves for Haverford High. Haverford High incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Gianni Ciccolone made 18 saves for Roman Catholic on 26 shots. Roman Catholic registered one goal on one power play opportunities.
