Huge game by Lee boosts Conestoga over Great Valley, 7-3

Behind a great game by Alex Lee, who had two goals and three assists, Conestoga defeated Great Valley, 7-3.

Lee scored at 9:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Conestoga and again while on the power play 8:26 into the third to make the score 4-3 Conestoga.

Conestoga's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Great Valley power plays. Conestoga outdid its season average for goals scored. Conestoga has scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Conestoga's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Conestoga also got points from Tommy Sopko, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Tate Kienzle, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mac Hamblett also scored for Conestoga. More assists for Conestoga came via Will Schnorr, who had two and Will Delaney, Reese Caldwell, Turner Kaufmann, and Clark Davis, who each chipped in one.

Great Valley was helped by Connor Iwanicki, who grabbed one goal. Iwanicki scored 5:43 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Casey Funk picked up the assist. Great Valley additionally got points from Nolan Atkinson, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Great Valley also got a goal from Max Hucker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Great Valley were Matt Defusco, who had one.

Malcolm Roeder rejected 21 shots on goal for Conestoga. Conestoga incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Reiner Westby made 21 saves for Great Valley on 27 shots. Great Valley incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
