Emerich's big game bests Great Valley in 13-4 DMA win

DMA's Colin Emerich had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing six assists in his team's 13-4 win over Great Valley.

Emerich scored at 3:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 DMA and again while 2:19 into the third to make the score 11-4 DMA.

DMA's offense rang up 54 shots on Great Valley's net. DMA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. DMA averages 6.4 goals per game. DMA got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

DMA additionally got points from Derek Golembrosky, who also tallied four goals and two assists, Jonathan Williams, who also registered two goals and one assist, Justin McGee, who also tallied two goals and three assists, Tyler Bolin, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Alex Maglio, who also had one goal and one assist. Chris Lavelle also scored for DMA. Other players who recorded assists for DMA were Nick Cabara and Jack Frost, who contributed one each.

Great Valley managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Great Valley finished below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game.

Great Valley was helped by Casey Funk, who registered one goal. Funk scored short handed 6:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 DMA. Great Valley played down a man on Sam Edwards's hooking. Great Valley also got points from Edwards, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Great Valley also had goals scored by Matt Defusco and Connor Iwanicki, who each put in one. More assists for Great Valley came via Max Hucker, Owen Lawless, and Mitchell Bates, who each chipped in one.

DMA took out Anthony Gurerieri after he had made eight saves and installed Julia Emerich in goal, where he finished with six saves and the win. DMA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Daniel Dougherty rejected 41 shots on goal for Great Valley. Great Valley registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
