Mazzulo leads Penncrest over Garnet Valley, 8-5

Penncrest's Austin Mazzulo had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-5 win over Garnet Valley.

Mazzulo got on the scoresheet 9:19 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:33 into the third, at 7:53 into the third, and at 13:11 into the third.

Penncrest surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Penncrest has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Penncrest also got points from Samuel Clapinson, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Matthew Dougherty, who also grabbed three goals and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Penncrest were Ian McDougall, who had two and Matthew Simpson and Declan Casey, who contributed one each.

Garnet Valley was led by Gannon Stuart, who tallied one goal and three assists. Stuart scored 15:56 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Garnet Valley. Dominic Starzi assisted on the tally. Garnet Valley additionally got points from Matthew Wood, who also registered one goal and one assist, Thomas Schenk, who also had one goal and two assists, Starzi, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Gregory Schenk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Garnet Valley received assists from Michael Caratello, who had one.

Mark Dumont recorded 21 saves for Penncrest. Penncrest incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garnet Valley's Lee Wheeler stopped 19 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Garnet Valley totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Garnet Valley ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and James Neugebauer was ejected from the game.
