Melso's goals lift Father Judge to 8-4 victory over Cardinal OHara

Behind a great game by Eric Melso, who had four goals, Father Judge defeated Cardinal OHara, 8-4.

Melso notched his first tally 2:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:31 into the first, at 1:00 into the second, and at 10:00 into the third.

Father Judge surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Father Judge averages 4.3 goals per game. Father Judge cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. Father Judge got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Father Judge found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Father Judge also got points from Zachary Vendetti, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Kenneth Paris, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Mark Marron, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Father Judge received assists from Thomas Perrone, who had two and Justin Smith and Collin Furey, who each chipped in one.

Father Judge was unable to stop Cardinal OHara from sending pucks towards the net, and Cardinal OHara eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Cardinal OHara was helped by John Ahearn, who had one goal. Ahearn scored on the power play 10:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Father Judge. Cardinal OHara had gained a power play chance when Sean Paris was whistled for high sticking. Liam McCanney assisted on the tally. Cardinal OHara additionally got points from Justin Boornazian, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Nick Donato, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cardinal OHara also got a goal from Jacob Pohlig as well. More assists for Cardinal OHara came via Zac Deemer, Michael Roney, and Nick Paquin, who contributed one each.

Jeffrey Jacuk recorded 40 saves for Father Judge. Cardinal OHara's starting goalie, Dan Dougherty, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Angelo Losardo, who stopped five shots. Cardinal OHara incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
