Downingtown West falls apart in second, loses to WC East, 7-1

Downingtown West was within striking distance after one period, but WC East put the pedal down in the second en route to a 7-1 victory.

WC East got the win with help from a great game by Chris Rodier, who had one goal and four assists. Rodier scored 12:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 WC East. Sergi Kern provided the assist.

WC East was led by goalie Joe Stacy, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Stacy certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.75 entering the contest.

WC East put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Downingtown West to score on any of its four power plays. WC East forced Downingtown West goalie Eric West to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

WC East additionally got points from Billy Kyle, who also had one goal and two assists and Eddie Russell, who also registered three goals and two assists to lead the team in points. WC East also got a goal from Dylan McLaughlin as well. In addition, WC East received assists from Michael Eland, who had two and Shane Stefani, Charlie Carsello, and Zachary Mulholland, who each chipped in one.

Downingtown West was led by Drew Barron, who scored the team's only goal. Barron scored 14:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 WC East. Joshua Rikess assisted on the tally.

WC East incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. West recorded 31 saves for Downingtown West. Downingtown West incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
