WC Bayard Rustin rips Downingtown West, 5-2

WC Bayard Rustin had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over Downingtown West.

Eric Flynn was all over the ice for WC Bayard Rustin, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Flynn scored the first of his two goals at 7:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WC Bayard Rustin. Matt Owens assisted on the tally. Flynn's next tally made the score 5-2 WC Bayard Rustin with 18:48 left in the third period. Joel Sheriko picked up the assist.

WC Bayard Rustin stifled Downingtown West's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WC Bayard Rustin kept Downingtown West's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eric West made 27 saves on 32 shots.

WC Bayard Rustin also got points from Ian Strasinski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. WC Bayard Rustin also had goals scored by Tyler Dougherty and Lucas Christie, who scored one goal each. More assists for WC Bayard Rustin came via Benjamin Meisinger, Matthew Widdis, and Tommy Sloan, who each chipped in one.

Downingtown West excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Downingtown West was helped by Alec Connolly, who finished with one goal. Connolly scored 9:38 into the second period to make the score 3-1 WC Bayard Rustin. Joshua Rikess provided the assist. Downingtown West also got a goal from Jason Pinkerton as well. In addition, Downingtown West received assists from Nate Filion, Noah Bebee, and Joseph Leahy, who contributed one each.

Jason Grande made 16 saves for WC Bayard Rustin on 18 shots. WC Bayard Rustin incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Downingtown West incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
