Downingtown East blows out Downingtown West, 9-2IceLine Rink 1 Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Downingtown East had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-2 win over Downingtown West. Downingtown East was led by Justin Cohn, who had one goal. Cohn scored 2:12 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Downingtown East. Collin Harple assisted on the tally. Downingtown East forced Downingtown West's goalies to work in net, racking up 49 shots and forcing 40 saves. Eric West made 37 stops and Justin Kiefel made three. Downingtown East excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Downingtown East surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Downingtown East has scored at the pace of 5.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Downingtown East were also effective in Downingtown West's zone, and came away with three goals. Downingtown East additionally got points from Luca Pisani, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jack MaGee, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Downingtown East also had goals scored by Alex Fox, Thomas Rocco, Harrison Layne, Max McAllister, Jonathan Carreiro, and Stephan Sizov, who scored one goal each. In addition, Downingtown East received assists from Kyle Raciti, who had one. Downingtown West stifled Downingtown East's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Downingtown West did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 11 saves. Downingtown West was helped by Drew Barron, who finished with one goal. Barron scored 15:20 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tino Digiorgio picked up the assist. John Michael Owens also scored for Downingtown West. Other players who recorded assists for Downingtown West were John Guay, Joshua Rikess, and Zach Hanaway, who each chipped in one. Downingtown East's Jeff Cummings stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that he faced. Downingtown East incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Downingtown West incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
