Huge game by Johnson boosts Kennett over Appoquinimink, 7-3

Ryan Johnson had two goals and one assist to lead Kennett to a 7-3 victory over Appoquinimink.

Johnson's tallies came on the power play at 6:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Appoquinimink and 13:44 into the second to make the score 4-2 Kennett.

Kennett found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Kennett averages 4.1 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Kennett additionally got points from Ryan Ganly, who also had one goal and one assist. Kennett also got a goal from Patrick ODowd as well. In addition, Kennett received assists from Luke Borman, Pearce Rush, and Connor Hyzny, who contributed one each.

Appoquinimink was helped by Nathan Blumberg, who tallied one goal. Blumberg scored 10:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Appoquinimink. Paul Towson picked up the assist. Others who scored for Appoquinimink included Ryan Schwarz and Campbell Garrison, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Appoquinimink were Ryan Cressman and Ryan Baccino, who each chipped in one.

Kennett's Sean Edmonds stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kennett avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of two power plays. Ryan Kukawski made 22 saves for Appoquinimink on 29 shots. Appoquinimink incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
