Springfield survives Conestoga comeback, wins 6-4IceLine Rink 4 Fri, Nov 13, 2015 Conestoga almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but Springfield managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Springfield led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Springfield's Tyler Riddle scored short handed at 11:39 in the second period to put Springfield up 5-2. Conestoga was unable to stop Springfield from sending pucks towards the net, and Springfield eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Penalties took their toll on Springfield, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals. Springfield additionally got points from Mark Rodgers, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Joseph Cavaliere, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Springfield included Dan Barrett and Kevin Brown, who scored one goal each. In addition, Springfield received assists from Jacob Zappo, who had two and Aiden Smith and Steven Griffin, who each chipped in one. Conestoga was led by Matt Cameron, who had two goals and one assist. Cameron scored the first of his two goals at 15:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Charlie Orr picked up the assist. Cameron's next tally made the score 5-4 Springfield with 6:40 left in the second period. Conestoga had taken the advantage when Springfield's Jim Schickling got sent off for cross checking. Conestoga also had goals scored by Nick Falcone and Graham Carpenter, who each put in one. More assists for Conestoga came via Turner Kaufmann, who had two and Will Delaney and Will Schnorr, who contributed one each. Springfield's Calin Losacco stopped 12 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Springfield incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Luke Turner made 25 saves for Conestoga on 31 shots. Conestoga incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
