Behind a great game by Tyler Riddle, who had four goals, Springfield defeated Cardinal OHara, 5-1.

Riddle's first goal came 4:40 into the second period. He then added goals at 2:21 into the third, at 11:38 into the third, and at 14:56 into the third.

Springfield was efficient when it shot the puck, scoring its goals on only five shots.

Springfield excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Springfield could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Springfield puts an average of 7.9 pucks into the net per game.

Mark Rodgers also scored for Springfield. More assists for Springfield came via Jim Schickling and Nick Farese, who contributed one each and Andrew Astrino, James Spence, and Kevin Brown, who each chipped in two.

Cardinal OHara was led by Jon Melanchuk, who scored the team's only goal. Melanchuk scored short handed 12:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. Cardinal OHara played down a man on John McVeigh's checking from behind.

Springfield incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cardinal OHara incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
