Cardinal OHara beats Father Judge 7-4 as McCanney gets hat trick

Father Judge could not stop Cardinal OHara's Liam McCanney, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

McCanney notched his first tally 57 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 13:45 into the second and at 14:04 into the third.

Cardinal OHara forced Father Judge goalie Jeffrey Jacuk to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Cardinal OHara surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Cardinal OHara averages 4.0 goals per game.

Cardinal OHara additionally got points from Jacob Pohlig, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cardinal OHara included Justin Boornazian, Zac Demmer, and John McVeigh, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cardinal OHara came via Jon Melanchuk, who had two, Corey Boornazian, who had four, and Nick Paquin, Nick Donato, and John Ahearn, who each chipped in one.

Father Judge's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Father Judge was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.
