M2 Providence College hangs on, beats M2 UMass-Lowell 3-1

M2 Providence College took the lead against M2 UMass-Lowell in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory.

M2 Providence College took over the lead for good with a goal by Robert Kiska at 39 seconds in the first period. Justin Fein assisted on the tally.

Austin Hansen had one goal and two assists to lead M2 Providence College. Hansen scored 16:40 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M2 Providence College. Francis Obrien picked up the assist.

M2 Providence College's Jake Beaton was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. Beaton managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.12 prior to the game.

M2 Providence College stifled M2 UMass-Lowell's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 41 shots on target during the contest, M2 Providence College exceeded the 2.4 shots it averages per game this year.
