Taggart's hat trick boosts M2-Northern Colorado over Texas A M University, 9-2

Texas A M University could not stop M2-Northern Colorado's Cameron Taggart, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-2 win.

Taggart's first goal came 3:15 into the second period. He then added goals at 16:44 into the second and at 7:10 into the third.

Texas A M University's power play was ineffective against M2-Northern Colorado's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

M2-Northern Colorado forced Texas A M University's goalies to work without much rest, launching 44 shots and forcing 35 saves. Tristan Weinholzer made 16 stops and Ethan Palmer made 19. M2-Northern Colorado outdid its season average for goals scored. M2-Northern Colorado has scored at the pace of 4.8 goals per game during the current campaign. M2-Northern Colorado was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

M2-Northern Colorado also got points from Truman Gonzales, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M2-Northern Colorado included Brad Pershing, who had two and Marcus Martin-Wegryn, Jacob Lechner, and Zach Zimmerman, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M2-Northern Colorado were Ethan Hicks, Max Legere, Jake Komrofske, and Mitchell Bailey, who each chipped in one and Connor Hicks, Austin Pond, Zach Barber, and Colin Chmelka, who contributed two each.

Texas A M University forced M2-Northern Colorado's goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 34 shots and forcing 32 saves. Conor Chmelka made 19 stops and Owen Rauer made 13.
