Victory Honda (MM) beats Fox Motors (MM) 6-4 after comeback scare

Victory Honda (MM) survived a determined comeback attempt by Fox Motors (MM) on the way to a 6-4 win.

Victory Honda (MM) took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have Fox Motors (MM) storm back on a Trevor Zenas goal 9:20 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Victory Honda (MM)'s penalty kill excelled, as Victory Honda (MM) gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

Victory Honda (MM) stifled Fox Motors (MM)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fox Motors (MM) was unable to stop Victory Honda (MM) from sending pucks towards the net, and Victory Honda (MM) eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Victory Honda (MM)'s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Victory Honda (MM) finished with 16 penalty minutes.

Victory Honda (MM) was helped by Anthony Grimaldi, who had one goal and one assist. Grimaldi scored 17:26 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Victory Honda (MM). Christian Sabin assisted on the tally. Victory Honda (MM) additionally got points from Sabin, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Shawn OMalley, who also registered one goal and one assist. John Sladic also scored for Victory Honda (MM). More assists for Victory Honda (MM) came via Justin Brandt, who had two and Riley Hestwood, Todd Kiilunen, and Timothy Friedmann, who each chipped in one.

Fox Motors (MM) forced Victory Honda (MM) goalie Michael Latorella to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Fox Motors (MM) was led by Brandon Krumpschmid, who tallied two goals. Krumpschmid scored the first of his two goals at 8:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fox Motors (MM). Dallas Tulik picked up the assist. Krumpschmid's next tally made the score 4-2 Victory Honda (MM) with 10:15 left in the second period. Tulik provided the assist. Fox Motors (MM) also got a goal from Kyle Keating as well. In addition, Fox Motors (MM) received assists from Zach Heintz, who had two and Gianni Vitali and Terry Ryder, who contributed one each.

Latorella rejected 27 shots on goal for Victory Honda (MM). Victory Honda (MM) registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Fox Motors (MM)'s Alex Wilder stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Fox Motors (MM) incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
