In a game where neither team could get a cushion, M2 Marist College escaped with a 3-2 victory over M2 Sacred Heart University.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Justin Genga at 17:13 of the third period.

M2 Marist College pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

M2 Marist College was led by Genga, who finished with one goal and one assist.

M2 Marist College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M2 Sacred Heart University to score on any of its seven power plays. M2 Marist College kept M2 Sacred Heart University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Rozzi made 42 saves on 45 shots. The defensemen of M2 Marist College were also effective in M2 Sacred Heart University's zone, and came away with two goals.

M2 Marist College also had goals scored by Daniel Roberts and Conor Flynn, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Marist College were Brett Kaiser and Sean Blaine, who contributed one each.

M2 Sacred Heart University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. M2 Sacred Heart University's offense operated below its season average.
