M2 Florida Gulf Coast University survives M1 Western Michigan University comeback, wins 6-4

The M1 Western Michigan University Stallions tried their best to erase a five-goal deficit, but M2 Florida Gulf Coast University would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

A goal by Mike Chemello put M2 Florida Gulf Coast University up 6-1 in the third period, but M1 Western Michigan University pulled to within two on Mitch Rogowski's tally 10:14 into the third period.

M2 Florida Gulf Coast University forced the Stallions' goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Brandon Haase made 26 stops and Will Massey made five. M2 Florida Gulf Coast University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 Western Michigan University power plays. M2 Florida Gulf Coast University did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. M2 Florida Gulf Coast University averages 9.6 goals per game.
