M1 Delaware ^ University of beats M1 Rutgers University 6-5 after comeback scare

The M1 Delaware ^ University of Blue Hens survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights on the way to a 6-5 win.

A goal by Matthew Santucci put M1 Delaware ^ University of up 6-4 in the third period, but M1 Rutgers University pulled to within one on Brian Gnad's tally 12:19 into the third period.

The Blue Hens' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. M1 Delaware ^ University of put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 3.1 it averages per game.

The Blue Hens were led by Maxwell Freeman, who tallied two goals. Freeman scored the first of his two goals at 10:49 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Delaware ^ University of. Vincent Zingarelli assisted on the tally. Freeman's next tally made the score 4-3 M1 Delaware ^ University of with 3:19 left in the second period. Cole Zucker picked up the assist.
