Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Robert Morris Univ Pennsylvania Colonials defeated the M1 Delaware ^ University of Blue Hens in a shootout 6-5 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. M1 Delaware ^ University of got a shootout goal from John Redgate. In addition to the clincher, M1 Robert Morris Univ Pennsylvania got a shootout goal from Travis Reece.

The Colonials saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout.
