Lawrence's hat trick boosts M1 Binghamton University over M1 Saint Bonaventure University, 7-4

A hat trick by Kyle Lawrence was the highlight in Bearcats' 7-4 win against the M1 Saint Bonaventure University Bonnies.

Lawrence notched his first tally 16:59 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:54 into the third and at 11:50 into the third.

The M1 Binghamton University Bearcats found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. M1 Binghamton University averages 3.8 goals per game. The Bearcats put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.3 they average per game.

M1 Binghamton University also got points from Joseph Posillico, who also registered two goals and one assist and Peter Russo, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Daniel Kowalsky also scored for M1 Binghamton University. In addition, M1 Binghamton University received assists from Cameron Krug, who had two and Wayne Buerkle and Anthony Governale, who contributed one each.

M1 Saint Bonaventure University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Bonnies exceeded the 1.2 shot they average per game this year. M1 Saint Bonaventure University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Bonnies were led by Andrew Hayn, who racked up two goals and one assist. Hayn scored the first of his two goals at 8:41 into the second period to make the score 4-2 M1 Binghamton University. Hayn's next tally made the score 5-3 M1 Binghamton University with 2:30 left in the second period. John Rogers assisted on the tally. M1 Saint Bonaventure University additionally got points from Andrew Chadwick, who also finished with one goal and one assist. M1 Saint Bonaventure University also got a goal from Ethan Mackrell as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Saint Bonaventure University were Andrew Farnham, who had one.

M1 Binghamton University's starting goalie, Ryan Gallagher, made 15 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Harris Pittinsky, who stopped 11 shots. The Bearcats ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Alex Feyche recorded 29 saves for M1 Saint Bonaventure University. The Bonnies registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. M1 Saint Bonaventure University ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Gokey was ejected from the game.
